We come to you Father
Today we seek your face
We hear your call to be Holy
And desire to leave this place…
This place call struggle.
Struggle with things like jealousy
Pride, lust, and also greed
Addictions and drunkenness
And still more things unseen
There’s Gossiping, slandering,
False witnessing too
Help us shed these ways Lord
And only cling to you
The Fornication, Adultery
Words we shutter to even say
Yet these things and more
Still hide in churches today
And we struggle…
Help us to rise above the struggle
Leaving these things behind
Setting our sights on Jesus
And the renewing of our minds
Leaving personal “Egypts”
And clinging to the cross
Christians still need Jesus
As much as those that are lost
We can live a life that’s Holy
One free of guilt and shame
The redeemed, again made new
By the power of Jesus name
Safe in the hands of the Potter
Being molded as wet clay
Conforming to Christ image
As we walk the narrow way
But today,
We still struggle
So we come to you Father,
Today we seek your face
We hear your call to be Holy
And desire to leave this place…
This place call struggle.
